About CanvasVerdict

A courtroom for software, with one case on the docket. Here is who sits on the bench, how the record is kept, and who pays for the lights.

CanvasVerdict is a small independent publication that reviews one thing: Wix, and the decisions that surround it — which plan, which matchup, which exit. The courtroom framing you see across the site — rulings, exhibits, cross-examinations — is a way of keeping ourselves honest, not a costume. A ruling must cite its evidence, name its objections, and stand until the facts change. That is the entire method; the metaphor exists to enforce it.

How we test

We build and operate real Wix sites — that is the laboratory behind every opinion published here. We work inside the editor and the AI tools we describe, and we keep a running file of price evidence: plan rates, promotional cycles, and renewal behavior are re-checked monthly, and the figures in our copy carry the date they were verified.

The scores are not ornamental. They have gone against Wix on specific counts — lock-in, renewal pricing, blogging — and they will again wherever the evidence leads there. A review site that cannot rule against its own subject is a brochure.

Independence

CanvasVerdict is an independent review site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wix.com Ltd.

No one at Wix reviews, previews, or influences anything published here, and no vendor has ever seen a ruling before readers have. Our opinions are our own, our mistakes are our own, and both get corrected in public.

How we make money

Through affiliate links — and deliberately in both directions. When a reader signs up for a paid plan through one of our referral links, we may earn a commission, whether that reader chose Wix or one of the competitors we compare it against. Recommending Wix and recommending an alternative pay the same way, which removes the usual incentive to shade a verdict. Commissions never change the price you pay, and the full terms are in our affiliate disclosure.

Correspondence

Corrections, disputed figures, and counter-evidence are welcome — pricing changes faster than any publication, and readers' renewal invoices are among the best exhibits we receive. Reach the bench through our contact page.
