Privacy Policy

This policy is deliberately short, because the facts are short: CanvasVerdict collects very little, and does very little with it. Last revised October 9, 2026.

What we collect

One category, and only one: how the pages are used. There is nowhere on this site to give us an email address: we keep no mailing list, and there is nothing to subscribe to or unsubscribe from. Until September 2026 a sign-up box sat at the foot of these pages; it was never connected to a sender, so it sent nothing and stored nothing, and it has been taken down rather than left to imply a list that did not exist. The measurement that remains is entered into the record below, tool by tool. It describes traffic, and we do not build profiles of any reader.

Analytics, entered into the record

Exhibit one is Cloudflare Web Analytics, run by the network that delivers these pages. It sets no cookies and reports only totals: pages read, countries, referring sites.

Exhibit two is Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and, for readers in Europe, Google Ireland Ltd. It records the pages you view, the site that referred you, your approximate location (city and country), your device and browser type, and the timing of your visit. GA4 keeps no record of IP addresses: it neither logs nor stores them. Its advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are all switched off on this site, so the data is not used for advertising, and we do not sell it. GA4 recognises a browser only by a random number, so we could not find your visits from your name or email address even if asked.

Who is asked, and when: if your device's time zone places you in Europe (the EEA, the UK or Switzerland), a banner asks first, and nothing is sent to Google unless you press Accept. Everywhere else analytics is on by default, and you may switch it off at any time. A browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as having opted out. Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage under the name analytics-consent, not in a cookie.

To revisit your answer, use cookie settings and the banner reopens. Google's own handling of the data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with third parties for their marketing. We run no advertising network on these pages, so no ad broker observes your reading habits here. We hold no reader addresses, so there is none here to make a revenue stream of, and that will not change — the court considers that matter settled without need for argument.

Cookies

The cookies this site sets for itself are the two Google Analytics cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>. They last up to two years, are set only once analytics is allowed, and are deleted if you later decline; Cloudflare's counter sets none. When you follow one of our outbound referral links, the destination site may set its own cookies under its own policy — that is the partner's conduct, governed by the partner's rules, and it begins the moment you leave our pages.

This site earns commissions through referral links. How that works, which direction the money flows, and why it never alters a ruling are set out in full in our affiliate disclosure, which forms part of this policy by reference.

Data requests

To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, write to the clerk at [email protected] or through our contact page. Given how little we collect, the honest answer to most requests is that we hold nothing about you to produce, to correct or to delete: there is no subscriber list, because there is no way to join one. If this policy changes in any material way, the revision date above changes with it.
