Wix Pricing Explained (2026)

Four premium plans, a near-permanent sale, and a renewal invoice that rarely matches the first one. This page enters the full Wix price record for August 2026 — list prices, promo behavior, and the add-ons that set your real bill.

Wix pricing looks simple on the surface — four premium plans from $17/mo to $159/mo on annual billing — and gets less simple the moment promotions, renewals, domains, email, and apps enter the record. This page lays out the whole file: what each plan costs on both billing cycles, what each is genuinely for, and the renewal evidence most pricing pages leave out.

The four plans, on the record

The figures below were verified in August 2026 and are shown for both billing cycles. Annual billing is meaningfully cheaper and is the only cycle that carries the first-year domain voucher.

What each plan is actually for

Storage and collaborator counts climb the ladder, but the tiers are better read as capability gates than size gates. Here is what the record shows each one buying.

Light ($17/mo annual) is the display tier: personal sites and portfolios, 2 GB of storage, two collaborators, and a light marketing suite with automated emails and lead forms. It cannot take payments — and that is the line that matters. The moment money changes hands on your site, Light is out.

Core ($29/mo annual) is the plan most buyers are really deliberating. It is the cheapest tier that sells online: payment acceptance, Bookings and Events, dropshipping up to 25 products, 50 GB of storage, five collaborators, and the basic marketing suite. Wix Payments processes US card transactions at 2.9% + $0.30, and Wix adds no platform commission on top of that.

Business ($39/mo annual) buys operational headroom rather than new categories: automated sales tax on 100 transactions a month, advanced shipping, multi-currency selling, advanced loyalty tiers, and 100 GB of storage across ten collaborators.

Business Elite ($159/mo annual) is a different weight class: unlimited storage, up to 100 collaborators, dropshipping up to 50,000 products via Modalyst, and the only tier with priority VIP phone support. If you have to ask whether you need it, the record suggests you do not.

The free plan, in one paragraph

Wix's free plan is real and permanent — $0, no card, no time limit — but it is an audition, not a venue: 500 MB of storage, around 1 GB of bandwidth, Wix-branded ads on every page, and a wixsite.com subdomain with no custom-domain connection. Treat it as a way to test the editor before paying, and see our case file on Wix free vs premium for the moment when upgrading starts to pay for itself.

The renewal evidence

This is the section that justifies the page. Wix discounts near-constantly: by our observation, a 50%-off-first-year sale re-appears roughly every two weeks. But the promotions often exclude Light and sometimes Core, and buyers end up anchoring on a number that exists for one year only. The exclusions matter for budgeting: if you are buying Light, assume no discount; if Core, check whether the current sale actually includes it before counting on the half-price year.

When the promo year ends, billing reverts to full list price. Users report renewal increases of 20% to 50%+ against what they first paid, and the record contains one documented case of a two-year plan renewing from $440 to $680 — a jump of roughly 54%. Some users report as little as two weeks' notice before the renewal charge lands. None of this is hidden, exactly; it is simply never printed on the page where you buy.

So the court's standing rule: price a Wix plan at its renewal rate, and book anything below that as a temporary discount. Calendar the renewal date on the day you purchase, and remember the 14-day money-back window exists to reverse a decision that was made for you by a countdown timer.

The add-on math

The plan is not the bill. Three add-ons recur in nearly every real Wix budget. The domain: free for year one on annual billing, then around $19.35/yr for a .com renewed through Wix, with common TLDs renewing at roughly $14.95–$24.95/yr and WHOIS privacy included free. Business email: included on no plan — Google Workspace through Wix runs $6/user/mo, or $72 per user per year. Apps: typical paid App Market apps cost about $3–$20/mo, and extremes exist in both directions — from around $2.50 up to around $500/mo at the edges — but $3–$20 covers the ordinary case.

Worked example — a small business on Core, annual billing. Year one at list price is $348, with the domain voucher covering the rest; in a 50%-off window that includes Core, around $174. The renewal year reads differently: $348 for the plan, around $19 for the domain, $72 for one email seat, and around $120 for one mid-range app — roughly $559 in total. That renewal year runs about 1.6x a non-promo first year and 3x+ a promo one. A solo portfolio on Light is gentler: around $204 in year one and around $223 at renewal, plus email if wanted. The complete accounting, receipt by receipt, is in our case file on the real cost of a Wix site.

Which plan we'd rule for

By situation, on the evidence above:

  • Portfolio or personal site: Light, on annual billing. Nothing below it connects a custom domain, and nothing above it earns its keep for a site that only displays.
  • Service business taking bookings or payments: Core, the cheapest Wix plan that transacts — buy it inside a sale window if one includes Core, and budget it at $348/yr for the renewal.
  • Store with tax, shipping, or currency complexity: Business. The $10/mo step over Core is cheaper than one bookkeeping mistake.
  • High-volume catalog or a large team: Business Elite — though at $159/mo, the comparison you should really be running is against dedicated commerce platforms.
  • Not sure Wix is the venue at all: read our full Wix review before buying anything — plan choice is downstream of that ruling.

One final entry: every figure on this page was re-verified for August 2026, and the file is re-examined monthly. If Wix's checkout disagrees with the record here, the checkout wins — prices are evidence with a date on them, and we amend the file when they move.

Cross-examination: Wix pricing

How much does Wix cost per month?
On annual billing: Light $17/mo, Core $29/mo, Business $39/mo, and Business Elite $159/mo. Month-to-month runs higher: $24, $36, $46, and $172 respectively. Frequent 50%-off promotions can halve the first year, but the renewal returns to full list price.
Does Wix raise prices at renewal?
Your bill reverts to full list price after the promotional first year, and users report effective increases of 20% to 50%+ against what they first paid — one documented two-year plan went from $440 to $680. Calendar your renewal date when you buy; some users report only about two weeks' notice before the charge.
Which Wix plan do I need to sell online?
Core at $29/mo on annual billing is the cheapest plan that accepts payments; it also covers bookings, events, and dropshipping up to 25 products. Business at $39/mo adds automated sales tax on 100 transactions a month, advanced shipping, and multi-currency selling for stores with heavier operations.
Does Wix have a free trial?
There is no time-limited trial of the premium plans. Instead there is a permanent free plan — with Wix ads and a wixsite.com subdomain — for testing the editor, and a 14-day money-back guarantee on all four premium plans once you do pay.
