Wix Pricing Explained (2026)

Wix sells four Premium plans to US buyers: Light costs $17 a month, Core $29, Business $39, Business Elite $159, each billed yearly and paid in full up front, before tax. That is $204, $348, $468 and $1,908 a year. Light cannot take payments; Core is the cheapest plan that can. A first-time yearly Premium plan comes with a voucher for a free domain in year one, and a .com then renews at $21.35 a year. Those are the figures on Wix's plans page and domain price list on 9 Oct 2026, the day we checked them, when no sale was showing to US visitors.

Who should buy what, in one line each: Light for a portfolio or brochure site, Core for anyone taking bookings or payments, Business for a store that needs more room, and Business Elite only for large teams and catalogues. Who should skip Wix's paid plans: anyone who will never connect a custom domain or take payments and can live with Wix branding, because the free plan covers a basic site at $0.

The four plans, on the record

Wix's plans page states that the displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full at the time of purchase, that other subscription periods are available, and that taxes are added according to your billing address. The final price is shown on the purchase page before you pay.

All four include a custom domain connection, Wix hosting, AI creation tools, 24/7 customer care, removal of Wix branding and the 14-day money-back guarantee on a first purchase. The free plan costs $0 and needs no card; what it lacks is covered further down.

Year one vs renewal: what actually changes

On a Wix plan, the number that moves between year one and year two is usually not the plan. With no sale applied, you renew at the plan's list price. What joins the bill in year two is the domain: the voucher pays for its first year only, and a .com then renews at $21.35. So a Light site that cost $204 in year one costs $225.35 in year two, Core goes from $348 to $369.35, and Business from $468 to $489.35. Business Elite moves from $1,908 to $1,929.35.

Sales change the picture. Wix runs first-year discounts, and when one applies, year one falls and year two returns to list price. None was showing to US visitors on 9 Oct 2026, so we have not priced one. If a sale is showing when you buy, read which plans it covers and treat the discount as a one-year saving, not a new price.

Two dates matter for budgeting. Wix's help centre says plans can renew up to three weeks before their expiry date, and domains renew 30 days before theirs. Put both in the calendar on the day you buy.

Monthly billing: what flexibility costs

Wix's plans page shows yearly prices only and notes that additional subscription periods are available. Monthly rates appear at checkout; we did not record them on 9 Oct 2026, so this page does not print them. Two things are documented. First, the free-domain voucher comes with most yearly or multi-year plans, so monthly billing gives up the free first year of the domain. Second, the 14-day money-back guarantee applies to first-time monthly and yearly plans alike.

The practical reading: monthly billing suits a site you may abandon within a few months. For anything you expect to keep for a year, yearly billing is the version Wix prices on its own page, and it is the only version that includes the domain voucher.

Wix pricing in the UK and EU: read the page you are shown

Wix shows its plans page in local terms. The US page quotes dollars before tax; when our tooling read the same page from outside the US on 9 Oct 2026, it returned different figures. That means two things for a UK or EU buyer.

• Do not convert the US dollar prices. Your page sets its own price in pounds or euros, and it may include VAT where the US page excludes sales tax. The figure on the purchase page, before payment, is the one you pay.
• The line-up does not change. The non-US page we read showed the same four plans, Light, Core, Business and Business Elite. Check the storage, voucher and refund terms on your own page before paying.

We could not read the GBP and EUR plan prices first-hand on 9 Oct 2026, so we have left them out rather than repeat figures we cannot stand behind. For a UK business, one useful fact from Wix's own domain price list: a .co.uk renews at $7.90 a year, far below a .com's $21.35, which makes it the cheapest address to keep on Wix.

What each plan is actually for

Read the tiers as capability gates. Storage and collaborator counts rise at every step, but the reason to move up is almost always a feature, not a gigabyte.

Light ($17/mo, billed yearly). Two gigabytes, two collaborators, the light marketing suite and a free domain for a year. It does not list accepting payments, and that is the line that matters: once money changes hands on your site, Light is the wrong plan.

Core ($29/mo). The first plan that takes payments, with basic eCommerce, scheduling and services, 50 GB and five collaborators. Most service businesses, coaches and small shops belong here.

Business ($39/mo). Standard eCommerce, the standard marketing suite, 100 GB and ten collaborators. The $10 a month over Core buys room to sell more seriously, not a new kind of site.

Business Elite ($159/mo). Unlimited storage, 100 collaborators, advanced eCommerce, the advanced marketing suite and Wix's advanced developer platform. If you are weighing this tier, also weigh a dedicated commerce platform.

The free plan, in one paragraph

The free plan is $0, permanent and needs no credit card. It gives you hosting, the drag-and-drop editor and Wix's templates, and it puts your site on a username.wixsite.com address that carries Wix branding. What it cannot do is connect a custom domain or remove that branding; both are Premium features. It is a good place to build and test before paying, and our free vs premium ruling sets out when the upgrade starts to pay for itself.

The domain line: voucher, renewal, privacy

Most yearly and multi-year Premium plans include a voucher for one free year of a new domain. The fine print, from Wix's plans page and its domain article: it comes only with a first-time plan purchase, must be redeemed within 60 days, cannot renew a domain you already own, and does not cover premium domains or WHOIS privacy.

After year one, Wix's list prices apply: $21.35 a year for a .com, $22.90 for a .net or .org, $7.90 for a .co.uk and up to $44.90 for a .blog (Wix's prices as of 18 Aug 2026). WHOIS privacy is an optional paid add-on; Wix's domain article does not print its price. Earlier versions of this page said privacy was free and that a .com renewed at around $19.35; both statements were wrong as of this review and have been corrected. Which plan we'd rule for

By situation, on the record above:

• Portfolio, CV or brochure site with your own domain: Light. Nothing above it earns its keep for a site that only displays.
• Service business taking bookings or payments: Core, the cheapest Wix plan that takes payments. Budget it at $348 a year plus the domain from year two.
• A store you are growing: Business, for standard eCommerce and the room to add staff.
• High-volume catalogue or a large team: Business Elite, after pricing a dedicated commerce platform alongside it.
• Testing an idea: the free plan, until you need a domain.

If the renewal year is the problem rather than the plan, compare like with like. Squarespace prices its four US tiers from $19 a month for Basic to $99 for Advanced, with Core at $29 and Plus at $49 on yearly billing; there is a 14-day trial but no free plan (prices as of 9 Oct 2026). What changed in Wix pricing this year

• 18 Aug 2026. Wix's domain price list sets a .com at $7.90 for the first year and $21.35 a year to renew.
• 9 Oct 2026. Wix's US plans page prices the tiers at $17 (Light), $29 (Core), $39 (Business) and $159 (Business Elite) a month, yearly billing, before tax. No sale was shown to US visitors.
• 9 Oct 2026, corrections to this page. Domain renewal changed from about $19.35 to $21.35 for a .com; WHOIS privacy changed from free to a paid add-on; the month-to-month rates we printed in August are withdrawn until we read them again at checkout.

Edge cases

• Taxes. US prices exclude sales tax, which Wix adds based on your billing address. Budget for it.
• Upgrades. Moving from Light to Core is an upgrade, not a first purchase, so it does not bring a new domain voucher or a new 14-day refund window.
• Multi-year plans. Wix sells them, and most include the domain voucher; check the per-month price on the purchase page before committing for longer.
• Wix Studio and Enterprise. Studio plans are priced separately and were not readable on 9 Oct 2026. Wix Enterprise is quoted per project.
